We are planning a winter snowshoe-photo hike up Left Hand Canyon off of Blanco Basin Road for Sunday, March 9. We will not be going all the way up to the meadows, but about half way up where there were some areas that appeared to have photogenic potential with good morning light through the trees and long the creek.
Jim and I hiked this area with the Outdoor club 4 or 5 weeks ago and felt there were some good photo opportunities. The snow has become crusty and should be capable of supporting a tripod. This should be an easy hike.
We will meet at The Junction and leave at 8:30. We plan to be back before noon so this should give the folks attending the Democratic Assembly ample time to make the afternoon meeting. Several of us will there for coffee by 8:00, if anyone wants to join us earlier.
The weather is supposed to be partly cloudy with a high of 48. This should make for a comfortable hike.
If you are planning to attend, please let me know. a.c.olson@CenturyTel.net
