Figure studies are an interesting adjunct to fine art photography. The undraped nude conveys a sense of grace and tranquility. Light and shadow are used to emphasize the curves of the female form. Whether in color or black and white, shape and form must fit the environment.
The undraped figure appearing in an unlikely location creates a response of whimsey and the absurd. When the nude female appears in unusual situations, a sense of story is created. Questions like: "Where is she?" ... "How did she get there?" ... "What is she doing?" ... "What happened to her clothes?" come to mind.
The images on this page have either been created in studios with controlled lighting or on location at several remote sites where a sense of story or drama adds interest to the composition.
All of the women appearing on this page are professional models, they are beyond the age of 18, and all have provided the photographer with signed model releases.
